Morada Way Art Walk
The Morada Way Art Walk is the premier cultural event of the Upper Keys, turning the heart of Islamorada into a lively, open-air gallery and street festival. Held in the Morada Way Arts & Cultural District (Mile Marker 81.5), this “Third Thursday” tradition brings together local artists, musicians, and culinary talent for an evening that captures the “Keys-casual” spirit.

What to Expect
A “Walkable” District: The event centers on Morada Way (the Old Highway), a small corridor tucked between the Overseas Highway and the Atlantic. It’s one of the few places in the Keys where you can truly “stroll” from gallery to gallery.
Eclectic Art: You’ll find everything from fine oil paintings and professional photography to “Gyotaku” (traditional Japanese fish printing) and handmade jewelry.
Live Entertainment: The central courtyard usually features local bands or solo acoustic performers, providing a soundtrack as you move between booths and storefronts.
The Beer Garden: The Florida Keys Brewing Co. serves as the festival’s social hub. Its colorful, mosaic-tiled beer garden is a must-visit for local craft pours like the “Iguana Bait” or “Sunsessional.”
Featured Galleries & Stops
Limelight Studio and Gallery: Showcasing vibrant, light-focused multimedia works.
Gyotaku by Lisa Lee: A fascinating look at the art of fish rubbing, where local catches are transformed into stunning rice-paper prints.
Morada Way Clay: A ceramics studio where you can often see live pottery demonstrations or browse local kiln-fired works.
Jessica Ann Art: Known for tropical and marine-life inspired pieces and sustainably produced Keys-scented candles.
Pro-Tips for 2026
Parking: Parking on Morada Way itself is closed during the event. You can find parking along the Old Highway (north or south of the district) or in the public lots near Mile Marker 81.
Arrive for Sunset: While the official start is 6:00 PM, arriving at 5:30 PM allows you to catch the sunset at a nearby waterfront spot like Lorelei Cabana Bar before walking over.
Dining: Many of the Keys’ best restaurants are within walking distance. Kaiyo Grill & Sushi and Chef Michael’s are popular for a sit-down dinner, while food trucks usually set up on the street for a quicker bite.
Family & Pet Friendly: The Art Walk is very inclusive; you’ll see plenty of families and well-behaved dogs on leashes enjoying the music and the evening air.
