Truman Waterfront Farmers Market

February 25, 2027 @ 2:00 pm7:00 pm

he Truman Waterfront Farmers Market (often referred to simply as the Key West Farmers Market) is a weekly staple of island life. Held at the scenic, breezy end of the island, it is a “pop-up island bazaar” that serves as both a grocery stop for locals and a scenic lunch or sunset destination for visitors.

2026 Schedule & New Hours

For the 2026 season, the market has shifted its traditional time slot to better align with the afternoon sun and visitor patterns.

When: Every Thursday, Year-Round (Rain or Shine)

2026 Hours: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (formerly 2 PM – 7 PM)

Location: Truman Waterfront Park, 21 East Quay Road (at the end of Southard Street).

What to Expect

The market is situated on the “Quay”—the wide, paved waterfront area right next to the historic USCG Cutter Ingham Maritime Museum.

Category Typical Offerings
Fresh Produce Seasonal fruits and vegetables, often brought in fresh from the farms of Homestead, FL.
Artisan Foods Local honey, gourmet pickles, artisan cheeses, fresh-baked breads, and organic nuts/dried fruits.
Local Seafood Freshly caught Key West pink shrimp, stone crab (in season), and smoked fish dip.
Plants & Flowers Stunning tropical orchids, native Florida plants, and “air plants” for easy travel.
Crafts & Art Handmade soaps, locally designed t-shirts, jewelry, and small-scale paintings/photography.
Food Trucks A rotating selection including Poke bowls, Mediterranean wraps, empanadas, and coffee trucks.

Park Amenities

The market is part of a larger, multi-million dollar park complex, making it an ideal family destination:

The Splash Pad & Playground: Located just a few yards from the market tents, it’s the best spot on the island for kids to cool off while parents shop.

The Ingham Museum: You can tour the historic Coast Guard cutter parked right at the market’s edge (open Tues–Sat).

Sunset Views: As the market winds down at 6:00 PM, you are in one of the best spots on the island to watch the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico.

Pro-Tips for 2026

The “Duval Loop” Shuttle: Don’t worry about parking! The free Duval Loop bus stops at the Truman Waterfront roundabout every 15–30 minutes, dropping you off just steps from the market.

Resident Parking: If you do drive, parking in the adjacent lot is free for up to 4 hours if you have a Monroe County residential parking sticker.9 Otherwise, the city lot uses pay stations (approx. $4/hour).

Pet-Friendly: This is a very dog-friendly market.10 You’ll see plenty of “island dogs” on leashes, and many vendors even keep water bowls and treats at their booths.

The “Picnic” Strategy: Most of the food vendors are ready by 1:00 PM. Grab a fresh lunch and head to one of the many park benches or the grassy lawn to enjoy a waterfront meal.
